Recent ActivityThe Glen Rock Community School is a community oriented organization sponsored and administered by the Glen Rock Board of Education. It offers educational, recreational and cultural activities for children, adults and senior citizens from Glen Rock and surrounding communities. Programs for children include Mom & Tot classes, Terrific for Tots Preschool, Kindergarten Plus Enrichment Program, School Age Child Care for students enrolled in the Glen Rock Public Schools, and a variety of summer camp experiences. Adult and senior courses focus on self improvement, business, technology, fitness and sports. In addition, the Glen Rock Community School sponsors trips to Broadway shows, day trips to points of interest in the tri-state area and extended trips across the United States and abroad.

Announcements  Introducing Chair Yoga, May 23The Glen Rock Community School is introducing a new concept in yoga. Chair yoga teaches basic yoga positions while participants are seated. Some basic standing postures with the use of the wall or chair will also be introduced. The class includes appropriate breathing practices and meditation with movement. This easy yoga practice and exercise includes gentle yoga postures that can be done while relaxing in a chair, at a desk or computer, and helps those who prefer yoga without the up and down that the floor yoga requires. This class will be taught by local yoga instructor Jill McConville and is appropriate for all levels. Participants should wear loose, comfortable clothing. The class meets for six Wednesdays, from 11-12 p.m. , May 23-June 27. Course fee is $48. Call the community school office at 201-389-5011 for registration information.
Girls' Volleyball ClinicThe Girls' Volleyball Clinic on page 32 of the Spring Summer brochure has two 5-day sessions: Session 1 is June 25-29 and Session 2 is July 16-20.
Standing Pilates for Seniors fee reductionThe course fee for our Standing Pilates class for seniors that will meet on Tuesdays, 11-11:45 a.m. from May 22-June 26 will now be $24.
Aqua Core Dynamics Time UpdateAqua Core Dynamics is an innovative, functional and fun water exercise class that provides resistance training using your core stabilization to explore and improve dynamic balance, strength, agility and coordination. The class is taught by Bernadette O'Brien and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, June 26 to August 9, at the Glen Rock Pool.
NOTE TIME UPDATE: Class meets 9:30-10:15 a.m. Zumba Fitness Party for TeensTeens who are ready to party themselves into shape are invited to join the Zumba Fitness Party! Zumba Fitness for Teens infuses Latin and international rhythms with easy-to-follow moves to create a dynamic, fun and exhilarating fitness class that will tone and sculpt your body while you get a great cardiovascular workout. The class begins Thursday, April 19, 7:30-8:30 p.m.in the Hamilton Elementary School gym.
